So, what I like...well, when I 'ship characters, I don't tend to think of it in a "these two characters must be together, they are meant for each other" sort of way. My 'shipping brain usually goes "wouldn't it be interesting if these two characters...?" I'm all about the slightly-dysfunctional, the very-dysfunctional, the heartbreak, the just-a-bit-dark, the bittersweet, the angst, the tragedy. I'm down for AUs and what-ifs, and new takes on old faves. I'll confess a penchant for whump, and I like to see my faves suffer a bit...buuut I'm also a bit of a sap for hurt/comfort, if comfort is in character and suits your motives. I love to see the motives of characters explored, and have them put into situations that challenge them or their relationships. Sexual content, I am fine with if it furthers a story or picture - in other words, I'm not looking for PWP, but if a sex scene explores something about the characters or their relationship, then I'm fine with as much detail as you need. Also fine with violence or gore, and I'm fine with character death, and I'm fine with a pairing not ending up together in the end because Tragic Circumstances But They Totally Should Have Been. (No letter, but I ramble more about my general likes and have previous letters for some of these fandoms/ships.)

I was lucky enough to see the show during the period when the role of the Speakeasy Bartender was played as female, and the character's easy confidence and utter mastery of their domain, combined with that animal devotion to Hecate, are very cool and sexy when the person in the waistcoat and the sleeve garters is a bald butch with tattoos, apparently. I loved seeing this fairly small and wiry woman get to do those fighty dances (the one with Fulton!!) and the lifts with Sexy Witch - but I am so into the fucked-up fealty dynamic with Hecate. I love the specificity and physicality of it (Speaks leading Hecate to her place, kneeling for her) but also how completely undone Speaks is by Hecate (THE VIAL OF TEARS SCENE asdsjhasjkhd).

- So - what’s Speakeasy's story? Were her GNC presentation or sexuality a factor in her getting involved in the underground booze business and/or Hecate’s service, and how do they affect her dealings with people now?

- Did she do small magic before becoming Hecate’s familiar, or did that come after? (Everyone’s small magic and folk magic is one of my favorite things about the fourth floor - the vibe is really different from the Porter’s magic in that it’s simultaneously so normalized for a bunch of them, this reaching-out to the other world of darkness and magic and nature that is Outside their town but also underlying/intertwined with it, but also something secret and furtive.) Does her relationship with Hecate give her any powers that it’s not possible to represent in the physical performance of dance - like, can she go through walls instead of just unlocking all doors? (Not meant to be a leading question, “she can unlock all doors” works too, I’m into the fact that all the magic necessarily has to be represented by stuff the performers can do.) Does Speakeasy having some powers ever come into scenes between them, or only scenes where she's out on Hecate's tasks?

- How do she and Hecate think about each other - is Speakeasy in love with Hecate, is sex one of the ways Hecate controls her human pet? How does it work to be or to have a human familiar? How/why did Hecate choose Speakeasy and what does she think of or do with Speakeasy’s devotion and service? Proud, disdainful? Anything with Speakeasy being Hecate’s creature/enforcer/weapon will be delicious, I love loyalty and fealty and especially loyalty/fealty scenarios where the subordinate character is kind of objectified as something for the other person to use.

Fandom-Specific DNW/Exception: dubcon is fine for Hecate/Speakeasy, as is "unequal levels of investment in a relationship" as long as no one is under any impression, in that event, that it is equal and Speakeasy isn't upset by that. Speakeasy/Sexy Witch, Hecate/Agnes, Hecate/other witches are okay as concurrent background ships, but please don't include/suggest any relationship negotiation or prioritization (trying to organize anyone's life around multiple relationships) or manipulation of Speakeasy's jealousy. Cuddling for warmth/comfort! Bobby begging her commanding officer to take care of her herself if she was ever wounded instead of going to a surgeon. *___*

It's easy to read Mirai's obsession with her big sister as romantic, especially after she achieved Revival, so how does she re-adjust to her life after her initial Revival and her forbidden feelings, especially with Rei still grieving for Yuri and their parents? Or maybe Rei's the one with unrequited feelings for her sister? What if either of them acted on such feelings? You could also do a missing scene fic taking place before the final battle with the Demon Twins, with both of them confronting their feelings for the other and trying to find some kind of closure before Mirai chooses to pass on.

So, if Fuyuna was in love with Akari, how would that have affected her jealousy? How much would that jealousy have twisted her love, especially if she never had a chance to tell Akari how she felt? It's easy to imagine Mai having a romantic admiration for Yukari at the beginning, so how would the initial revelation of Yukari being possessed by a great aradama have affected those feelings? After Princess Tagitsu's defeat and during Yukari's recovery, how does Mai's admiration grow more serious? What does Yukari think as she watches Mai grow into a more mature, stronger Toji? With them being at different stations in life, how would a relationship develop between them?
