Nominations are now open. They will be open until December 11th, 11:59PM EST.

The rules are here.

An AO3 account is required to make nominations. Should you need an invitation, please reach out to the mods via email or the comments section of this post. Anon comments are on, but they are not screened.

Characters need to be either women (canon or genderbent) or genderqueer characters that you think would fit in a f/f exchange. So someone like LaFontaine from the Carmilla web series would not be eligible. We're going to trust you to use your judgment on this one.

  • You can nominate up to 10 fandoms with 10 relationships each.
  • All nominations should be disambiguated, with the name of the canon after the ship, ex: Paris Geller/Rory Gilmore (Gilmore Girls).
  • Crossover Nominations should be listed as Crossover Fandom’ and then both fandom names, ex: Natasha Romanov (MCU)/Dinah Lance (DCEU).
  • Genderbent Ships: Nominate with a 'F' in front of the character(s) you want to genderbend, ex: Natasha Romanov/F!Sam Wilson (MCU), Please remember that the original ship has to has to qualify, not the genderbent version, so say, Peggy Carter/F!Steve Rogers would not be eligible due to the fact that the fact that Peggy Carter/Steve Rogers is over the limit.
  • Arrowverse/DCTV: Will fall under ‘Arrowverse’ tag. Shows not specifically in the Arrowverse but are part of the DCU (Smallville, Lois & Clark: The New Adventures of Superman, etc) should remain with their original tag.
  • MCU: The movies should use the MCU tag, ex: Sharon Carter/Natasha Romanov (MCU). TV shows (Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D, TFATWS, Agent Carter, What If …?, Loki, etc) need to be labelled with their own individual tag.
  • Star Wars/Star Trek/X-Men: Please refer to the specific version that you are nominating. For X-Men, please use either The Original Trilogy or ATS (for Alternate Timeline Series).
  • Comics: Should fall under their specific category. For DCU, that would be DCU (Comics). With Marvel, please specify the version that you are nominating (Noir, 616, etc).
  • DC Extended Universe: Should use the DCEU tag.
  • Original characters in non-original canons: You may nominate Character/Original Female Character(s), ex: Diana (Wonder Woman)/Original Female Character; Maria Hill/Original Female Characters. You can be as specific as you would like. Any original character(s) nominated will be assumed to be female.
  • Original Works: These must be nominated under 'Original Work' in the format 'Character Type/Character Type' e.g. ‘Princess/Maid', 'Pilot/Soldier/General', etc. All characters will be assumed to be female. If they are not nominated in this way, they will be rejected.

Any questions and/or clarifications, please comment here or email the mods at rarefemslashexmod@gmail.com.

So if a pairing appears in more than one category and is ineligible in one but eligible in the other is it fair game?

To be more specific, both Fire Emblem Three Houses and Fire Emblem Warriors Three Hopes have the same cast of characters but Three Hopes takes place in an alternate universe and thus has a completely distinct storyline. Since it's new all of the f/f ships for it fall under the 250 threshold, even the ones that are over that number in the original game.

How should nominations for Doctor Who et al work? Do I nominate all ships under Doctor Who & Related Fandoms, or do I nominate them by sub-fandom (Doctor Who (1963), Torchwood, Doctor Who (Big Finish audio), etc)?

What tag should be used for Stargate, which has three series (SG1, Atlantis, and Universe) taking place in one universe? I plan on nominating for SGA-exclusive pairings and SGA/SG1-crossover pairings, but you never know, someone might rarepair on SGU.

Hi, I have a question about nominating Star Trek ships. I'd like to nominate a couple of pairings with characters that belong to the cast of different shows (for example, one from Star Trek: DS9 and another from Star Trek: Voyager), how should I go about choosing which fandom to nominate these pairings in? Is it acceptable to nominate them under the general 'Star Trek' fandom?

Thank you for your prompt reply! I'll submit those ships under 'crossover' then :)
